Up till 3 years ago we used to go to the local tree farm and let them screw us over a real tree! Sort of pricey with some being almost $100!
Anyway that stopped the year that our house was infested with bugs that had been nesting in the tree....wife wont have any of that so now we have a fake pre lite tree.
funny you mention that.... we found 2 ticks on the rug yesterday!

Part of me does miss the smell of a real tree, however as i get older i have times i dont even want to bother...

Anyway back to the tree, it was the only time we had bugs from a tree in our house, but it was enough to make the wife not want a real one again...tree that is!

Got our usual noble fir on Saturday. I usually put the stand on it while it's in the truck, loosely. Then stand it up and take the leaf blower to it. Gets a lot (not all) of the loose needles and I hope any stray insects off before it gets in the house.

Grew up with one of those silver aluminum trees with the light wheel. As kids we hated it. As adults, that hasn't changed.

63 bucks??? They have them here at Home Depot for 41, already cut down.

When I was a kid we had one of those aluminum trees too but without the light wheel. It was kind of an eyesore.

The entire holiday is an eyesore and don't even get me started on the music (barf).

Festivus for the rest of us!

We went up there and saw that a couple years ago, it is beautiful up north in the winter...not to mention fewer people

Come ebonezer!

Even the grumpiest of us can get into the holiday spirit eventualy! Yes, it is a pain in the @$$ putting up lights and a tree, but once the snow starts to fly and you get a few holiday drinks in you at the company party things seem better.
