performance tips/mods

hey everyone,
i read an article about how the direction of you spark plug can give you additional power so i was wondering if there are any other hidden factors that people can change for free that will increase the performance
and i dont mean race exhaust etc im on about practically free adjustments for the average joe who doesnt want to spend a great deal of money on a quad or atv (possibly oil type)

Not completely free, but..... put some holes in the air box lid and jet up to compensate for the extra air flow, 4-10 dollars for a few jets. Pull the baffle/spark arrestor out of the exhaust (make sure thats legal to do where you ride,or install a screen tip to comply with law) Chain drive quads- make sure chain tension is correct and chain is properly lubed, and axle housing bearing turn freely. Small things, but driveline drag can suck up horsepower more than you know. Brakes- make sure they are not dragging or sticking. Front wheel bearings, make sure your front wheels spin easy. Correct air pressure in tires, too soft, tires sqaut and dont roll as easy, but dont overinflate or they wear fast and ride bad. All those things are free or very cheap, and add up to a few horsed here and there.

Anything that makes it harder to roll your quad...sticky bearings, too tight chain, sticky brakes, they all create drag, increasing rolling resistance, and taking more power to move.
And dont worry, its good to ask questions !!
