Not where I live (Texas) not unless you have your atv registered which I do. If not you are only allowed to cross the roadway at 90 degree angles. And for those that are going to ask how I got my atv registered in Texas. It is registered as machinery. It is exempt from blinkers, horn, and inspection stickers. Do ride in the road a lot but when I do its legal.

in Ohio you must have it registered (depending on machine sport quads are a sticker utility quads get a plate the size of a cycle plate) it can not be ridden on the "tar" part of the shoulder you have to be in the grass and cross the roads at a 90 degree angle

Legal in most of the smaller towns in Utah, except on the main highways.

techniqually anything that has wheels is supposed to have a title according to a few gov't officials.. they want to get a cut out of everything we do... I can always just take out through the woods when i hear the sirens... NOT.. haha.

i'm just gonna take the "terminator" cop's advice.. he was a short dude wearing sunglasses... and gloves
