New member wanting a new two stroke
#1
Hey guys, just made the account and wanting some help. Ok so the other day I was with my friend and we rebuild the top end in his cr85, this really inspired me to get a project bike. I know quite a bit about engines but was planning on spending around 1200 total. I was wondering what type of ATV ishould get. I heard blasters are easy and cheap, but low power. What about a Suzuki lt 250? Thanks everyone!

Does it have to be a 2 stroke?
I have a blaster, it goes pretty good... But it's real cramped, turn hard and the handelbars hit my knees! Not really all powerful, think you could fix up or find a better bike for $1200!

I have a 2 stroke (blaster) and 4 stroke (400ex)
I would much rather have the 4 stroke. 1) because the 2 stroke doesn't get the best of milage! I find myself mixing up fuel WAY more than filling up the 400ex!
2) You can find a 400ex as cheap as people ask for blasters! Tons more power!
3) .... My 4 stroke really doesn't require all that much maintenance... Just changing the oil once in a while, just as bad as changing the gear and clutch oil in a blaster! And you have to get the special yamalube stuff to! ($)
4) Arn't 2 strokes the ones that need frequent top end rebuilds?
5) I LOVE the 4 stroke!
