I bought an '06 Recon ES in good condition for $1,200 in 2010. That was a GREAT deal, but I think I could get a brand new 2012 or 2013 not much more than $3,250. We have 420 Ranchers in my area like mentioned earlier for ~$3k too (Richmond, VA Area).
These are great quads, only issue I see is price. I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it.
