That doesn't really like the way newer machines look? I'm not bashing anybody's ride at all, I just generally don't like the way machines started to look after 2005 or so. For example, I went into the local yamaha dealer a while back to get some parts and I saw a new grizzly. But I hated the swoopy plastic and the way the engine is completely covered by shrouds. Idk maybe it's just me but they almost look too..... Fragile to be used as a utility machine. Again I'm not bashing anybody's machine here, I'm just wondering if anyone shared my opinion lol.

Not so concerned with looks as functionality.

I think the 06-2011 can-am XT utilities looked flipping unbelievable! especially the renegade- just one of the meanest looking atv's ever made. Now with the Xxc, XMR & XT packages, can-am's are the best looking out there. I wasn't very thrilled with the 2012+ body style of the outlander, but is growing on me and I actually like the way they look now. I liked the front end of the 05 & 06 BF 750's with the 4 headlights- not crazy about the front end now... and the honda rincon is not too bad looking (even though it hasn't changed for 10 years now )
I never liked the way the grizzley looked at all- something about the "buggy" handle bars and the "humvee" looking grill- Also always hated the way the AC's looked. The KQ's are not too bad looking. I hated the boxy polaris front ends for years, even when I owned one I'd make fun of the way it looked- but the new sportsman's and XP's are pretty awesome looking now- especially with the le package.

I have to agree with beergut. I hate the look of most of the new quads, except the Can-Am's. For whatever reason, I think they are extremely sharp...especially the Renegades.

There are some models that I do think the older ones did look better. Not so much about the looks that bothers me, it's the ability to do routine maintenance. I know how to change a spark plug, but why make it so complicated to get to it you need a degree in engineering?

Y'all make some good points, about functionality over form and all. But that's one thing I like about my 2000 big bear, it's easy to work on. I wish I could comment in the can ams but I've never seen one in person. I mostly see Hondas, yamahas and Kawasaki around here. Now I do like the way the brute forces look. I guess it just bugs me how they seem to look more car like than ATV like. Just like trucks are starting to become overgrown luxury cars, but I won't go there lol.

Most of the newer quads are just fugly. Not so much with the 4x4. But the sporties, yuck..... Those stupid pointy fenders and the head lights that look like a of a set of eyes.
I think the designers are urban comic book geeks who wear costumes when they go to the movies to see the latest batman.

polaris scrambler without doubt is one of the ugliest looking quads ever built, imo.
