I got a problem with my sportsman and i need help it starts and idles fine but after about 20mins of riding it goes into limp mode i think it jumps and sputters and then if i cut it off it wont cut back on and the fan wont either i dont know what the problem is please help!!!!

 

Possible you could have weak fuel pump. You can hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and see if holds around 39 psi with out any drop in pressure.If pressure holds steady then you may have a wiring or sensor problem. Plus if you haven't had the breather update done you might check if the air box/filter is oily.Plus if you don't have a service manual this one can help along with helping on codes,service,etc. 2009 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 Service Manual PDF Download Worst case scenario is to have it hooked up to Digital Wrench to locate the problem. Usually a 1/2 to 1 hr service charge can save you hrs of frustration trying to find out what's wrong on efi machines.

 

Could it be anything over heating?

 

Possible,but does the hot light come on,the fan kicks on and off and no boiling over on coolant?

 

Its a gncc race bike so i dont have a dash cluster but the fan comes on but no over flowing cooling

 

Might have something to do with it..

 

Motor is stock just suspension work
