Wanting to purchase a new or used yfz450 about what is the price of yearly maintenance

 

How much do you ride? How hard? Racing or dunes? I change oil after every 5 to 10 hours. Service the air filter every ride. Check valves every 3 or 4 rides but if you buy a shim kit that should last the life of the machine. New valves when you are getting to the point that the kit won't work for you. Piston and hone and or bore every 50 to 100 hours.

It really depends on how hard you are pushing it. For instance, banging it off the Rev limiter all the time and you can probably just write some nice checks every year. Treat her a bit more gently and no organized racing and you can generally get a clue seasons out of stuff. It is A LOT cheaper to refresh them before they blow up though.

 

Or if you get a mellon like my old DS450, alot of money in maintenance and servicing haha!
