I got it!! It wasn't the carb. I pulled the plug out to make sure I was getting good spark but the spark was so intermittent so I checked the ground wire and cleaned it up a bit. The spark got better but it still wasn't very consistent so followed the wires to the coil and noticed a loose ground wire coming out of the connector so I fixed that and it fired right up! Now when it's running the key or kill switch don't work to kill the engine! Could that be the coil or another bad ground somewhere else?

Good to hear! Was it shutting off with the switch before?

I'm not sure, it usually died before I had to shut it off. I'm sure it's just a bad ground somewhere. I'll have to check but I don't know where they are all located!
