Default 1999 Polaris magnum issues

My quad won't move unless it's in 4wd. Starts fine but when I put it in gear nothing. No movement at all. I can put it in 4 high and it will go. Any ideas?

Sounds like the coupler connecting the rear prop shaft to the rear differential is stripped out not allowing the rear drive to engage. Had several come into the shop like this. Easily overlooked in this box frame and many people don't realize it's there or if they do,don't realize it has a grease fitting.Item #17 in the parts break down.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse A lot of work to get to this coupler as the rear diff and axle have to be removed.

If it's like the ones I got a hold of the prop shaft from the gear case would turn, but not the rear diff pinion or rear axle if the coupler splines are stripped out.
