Thumbs up 4x4, hon or yam

Hello everyone, I'm looking to purchase a new 4x4 atv, either Honda or Yamaha. I need to add a plow to plow my drive way, and my nearby dad's drive way also. I prefer a automatic if there is such thing. What is a better model to get?

Reliability is about the same but a Yamaha will have a lot more power than a Honda with a similar size engine. For example a, 2018 Rincon 680 has 38.1 HP, barely more than my 10 year old Sportsman 500, and not enough to matter. It's hard to find numbers for the 2018 Grizzly 700 but the 2016 had 48.3 horsepower, 10.2 more than the Rincon. Here's where I finally found the numbers.

I'd go with the Yamaha too if it's a model with full locking front end. More traction the better to plow. Honda just came out with a locking front end in the last few years. Yamaha has more ground clearance and more power. Both are available with power steering.

If your going with the automatic trans then chose the Yamaha as they use a trouble free CVT type of belt transmission like a snowmobile uses. Been around for many years and are pretty much bullit proof. The Honda uses an electric shift transmission and they have had there share of problems, in my opinion I would stay away from the automatics. Now there 5 speed auto clutch transmissions are fine but Honda is lacking on HP as mentioned by others in their posts. As far as overall quality, most all the name brand machines are well built today so it comes down to a matter of which one fits your own comfort and needs.
