Recovery rope question

In my opinion you can always make it shorter but you cant make it longer!!

With a 28% stretch you may run out of trail before you snug it tight.. Personally i have only ever run a 10ft tow rope and never needed longer for poping someone out of the mud or using it for around a tree for winching. Anything farther than that for us is usually a winch recovery anyway.. Only time mine comes out is when were are playing in the mud..

I think mine is a 25 ft. Its actually an automotive recovery strap so its a lot stronger than I'll ever need it to be. I've used a few times recently to pull others out and once to wrap around a tree to extend reach to winch a rzr out of the mud.

I've had over 100 ft of recovery rope out once when I got stuck in the snow.
I have 2 - 50' synthetic ropes looped with hooks on both ends.
The two above are 25 footers cut from a 50' synthetic rope plus 3 or 4 tow straps from 12 to 15'.
Overkill I know but you just never know what you're going to need.

Counting what's on my winch spool I probably have close to 230 ft. A nice tree saver strap and two ****** blocks.
The best reason for over kill is its insurance that you'll probably never need it. LOL
