In my opinion you can always make it shorter but you cant make it longer!!

Or you can always get 2. Even if you have a winch, sometimes you're too far away from a tree to winch yourself out.

With a 28% stretch you may run out of trail before you snug it tight.. Personally i have only ever run a 10ft tow rope and never needed longer for poping someone out of the mud or using it for around a tree for winching. Anything farther than that for us is usually a winch recovery anyway.. Only time mine comes out is when were are playing in the mud..

I think mine is a 25 ft. Its actually an automotive recovery strap so its a lot stronger than I'll ever need it to be. I've used a few times recently to pull others out and once to wrap around a tree to extend reach to winch a rzr out of the mud.

I've had over 100 ft of recovery rope out once when I got stuck in the snow.

I have 2 - 50' synthetic ropes looped with hooks on both ends.

The two above are 25 footers cut from a 50' synthetic rope plus 3 or 4 tow straps from 12 to 15'.

Overkill I know but you just never know what you're going to need.

Specta, same here. From seeing where you ride and where I ride, higher altitude/high country, at times there can be limited anchor points and it really helps to have that extra reach of 100'. So yeah, I travel with 50' syn rope on my winch and a secondary 50' syn rope with the other recovery items, 20' tow strap, shackles, etc. And I have also had to break out that extra 50' syn rope as I was stuck in snow too.

I have 25 on the winch plus two cables, 25 and a 50 plus 25 of syn rope and this was still to short at a ride last fall. Buriwd in mud and nearest tree was 150 ft away. So in my opinion you can never carry to much!

Its always better to have more than you need.

Counting what's on my winch spool I probably have close to 230 ft. A nice tree saver strap and two ****** blocks.

The best reason for over kill is its insurance that you'll probably never need it. LOL
