I recently had a shop down the road from mount some tires for me on some new ITP rims and they totally trashed one of the rims and damaged the bead on the tire. Claimed they were that way when they opened the boxes. Anyway, I'm wondering if the damage to the bread on this tire is too bad for bread seal to take care of. Anyone know?
a bead sealer should work
The chamfered edge in my experience is where it really matter.
I doubt however that ITP let that out.
When you get it on I would certainly mark the tire there and inspect the area for deformation.
Wait.
Stop.
Get ahold of the transport/delivery company ASAP.
The vast majority of transport services PHOTOGRAPH their delivery.
They do this to protect themselves from fraudulent claims.
Tell them what the issue is, and they should be able to get a delivery image from the delivery person.
You might have a one off where someone did not take pictures, but it is pretty well S.O.P. all over these days.
