I recently brought a 91 polaris trail boss 250 4x4.

I'm having issues with it not charging the battery.


Comming from the stator I have 13.7vac at idle and as you Rev it up they just increase. The highest I seen it was 36.4vac. Iv replaceed the regular/rectifier.


when check the dcv at the battery terminals, I'm only getting between .4 vdc to

.01 vdc.

I'm at a loss is anyone able to help?

 

One more thing to add.
testing the red wire comming out of the regulator/rectifier I'm getting the following.

Old regulator/rectifier: 3.37vdc
new regulator/rectifier: 4.87vdc
