Default Anybody got a RHINO yet?

Had my Rhino for three weeks 11/07, this thing is really cool. I see a place for it, it is replacing a Polaris 500 sptm that was truely a great machine! It took me everywhere with 25" ITP 589's that I pointed it, from Ga. red clay to 5500' w/ 18" snow.
The Rhino is my new hunting project, I've replaced the stock tires with 25" Maxxis Bighorns.
On gps in high=39.7mph:low=25.7 ,the 35 mph is bunk!
.....more goodies as soon as available!

Hey Blackballed, thanks for the invite. I'll be passing through Kalamazoo next week but won't have time to stop this time as I'll be on my way to Missouri for deer season on the old homestead. Hope to have the Rhino by then. My dealer got the paperwork on mine a week and a half ago; just waitin for the truck! That ATV club you were talking about in Mt. Morris WILL include sideXsides.....Right? I'd like to learn more about the ATV advisory council as well.

I'm still waitin for the call from my dealer. I sold my Grizzly 3 weeks ago and am currently going through ATV withdrawal. I also think that a sideXside club would be a good idea. I truly have have off road envy of you guys that have yours. Hopefully this will be the week!

They have one on the floor over at Townline on Clio road.

Tony
I'll check it out tomorrow. Do you know if its spoken for already?

RhinoOffRoad....Figured that out yesterday while stuck in traffic and reading the manual. I was in a hurry to load my up at the dealer and the guy helping me was pretty new so he pulled the seat off and said here is your fuel tank and here is your sight gauge for the tank level. Once I got home, it was getting dark and the kids and I wanted to ride so never investigated. I will keep reading this weekend but do you know if there is a sight gauge for the oil level, like the grizzly?

A couple of my mule buddies are pretty ticked off. They cannot believe what this thing will do. Again, they purchased mules for hunting and not working so this is the perfect fit.

Tire wise, I am happy with the ones that came stock. I thought, by the looks of the brochure, that they would be knobby all over but I have military tread with knobby.

One last thing...this thing is dangerous when you put it on a trailer. Everyone pulls up beside you and blocks traffic to look at this beast and several have given me the old "roll your window down" sign and they attempt to ask you several questions while moving - I guess that is the price you have to pay.

Well, now I am really chomping at the bits! I don't know if I am gonna be able to stand the wait!

LA RHINO, it was me asking you about getting together sometime after duck season is over to ride. I moved here to New Orleans a couple years ago, and don't know a lot of places to ride. I have some trails around my home here, but not that big of a section to ride in. I hate to think that the only place I can ride is in my neighborhood....hehehe.

Good luck tommorrow with the ducks. It is so hot this year, I think I am gonna wait till a cooler weekend, and go up to our camp in Yazoo City. ........Jim

Just got back from my dealer with the new "Beast". I've been riding for the past hour and it was incredible! The power! The ride! Its got the whole package. Quads are out, the Rhino is in. It blows my former Grizzly out of the water. I can't wait to start logging some hours on this machine.

Rhino Experience Report #1

I spent the weekend hunting and working around our duck lease with my new Rhino and all I can say is that I was very impressed and 110% satisfied. What usually took 3 trips to the duck blind took 1 (2 shotguns, 1 dog, decoys, various gear - oh and 1 rider and 1 passenger). The bed worked great - just dump your stuff in it and forget about it - no bungee cords or rope. A few more comments on performance:

Turning radius is great
Turning responsivness is unbelievable
Ride is very smooth
Speed is plenty

A couple of other notes:

My 11 year old son dropped the rear tire in a big hole while in two wheel drive. Of course, I was cussing Yamaha for not having a winch ready but low and behold, my son simply gave it a little gas and it walked out of the hole in 2wd.

Towing power is all I will ever need. I hooked up the trailer (the same one that I haul the Rhino on) full of some gear and this thing did not even breath heavy.

Hauling stuff is wonderful. We loaded enough lumber into the bed to build two duck blinds then strapped a canoe to the top - the suspension was not even close to squatting too hard.

In short, this thing is better than I thought it would be and I do not regret dumping the Grizzly for it. If you carry anything or usually have a passenger, this is simply a no brainer decision.

Rhino experience report; Spent the weekend tooling around the trails in the woods and again have no regrets about selling the Grizzly. Power, speed, and handling was essentially the same as the Griz without the feeling a potential tip over; even when up on two wheels. Still would like more top end on the open road though. I've read on the forum that the rhino's CDI has a rev limiter at 7K and you can change to the Grizzly CDI with the rev limiter set at 8K along with swapping the Grizzly drive pulley to bring the Rhino top speed into the 50-60 mph range. That would be sweeeet! The real test for me will be this weekend and next week as the Rhino will be the primary mode of transport for me while in Missouri deer hunting. Has anyone heard about availability of accessories yet?
