On the same subject. Your feet will get wet if you ford into water up to that level, its unavoidable. As per the warning label, we would like folks not to go deeper then I believe 12" of water. Of course, people are going to go and go until they see fit, but that is what we recommend. I suppose you can throw on a Gordons Fisherman outfit next time your going mudding

Wadd...just trying to be funny but you can, with an ATV, stand on the seat or raise your legs up and rest them on the front racks and keep from getting too wet. With the Rhino, you must use your feet on the brake and gas pedals. Also, in Louisiana, 12" of water is nothing. A depth finder option would also be great
BlackBalled & RhinoOffRoad, I double checked the Warn site and they say to use a 1.5 multiplier over gross vehicle weight to determine winch size. 1049 pounds (Rhino weight) x 1.5 = 1574lbs. So I can only deduce that a 2500lb is fine. I just don't have time to wait around for 3000lb brackets when the dealer says the 2500's will work. RhinoOffRoad, great point on the skid plates and holes. Down here, there aint no such things as rocks - just serious, nasty mud.

I am not 100% sure, but i think gross vehicle weight includes total weight that the vehicle can hold. In the rhino's case- 1049 lbs. + 400 in the bed + 400 of passengers= 1849 x 1.5=2773 lb winch. I would get the biggest winch that is available for the rhino if I were you. just my $.02

Hey Blackballed, Davison is about 15 minutes east of Flint just off of I-69. Another day has gone by and no call from the dealer! I'm hoping it comes within the week as I am headed south to Missouri to deer hunt. I'm really hoping to be able to break in the new Rhino of this trip.

Ok I'm I to understand there is a 2500# winch and mounting brackets avalable for the Rhino? If so where can I order? Also I drove by
the dealership here in Morgantown where I purchased mine and it appears they just got two more Rhinos in. To all those waiting I kind of have to chuckle because West Virginia simply doesn't ever get anything before anyone else anywhere:-)
Less than two weeks and I estimate about 200 miles already...not bad for someone who works full time and flys when the weather is good:-)and man has it been good here. Can't wait for snow!

Got the call last night. Am heading out to pick it up today. Also, according to 3 dealers and another person "in the know", there is NO winch mounting bracket option as we speak. And after listening to you guys, I am going to hold out for the 3000lb winch.
Will let you guys know how this thing performs.

I saw those tracks on a kawasaki Mule on ATV Television. It was floating right over the snow. The snow was really deep but the tracks have so much floatation that they just stay right on top of the snow. The driver got out of the mule and his foot sunk into the snow up to his knee.
If it snowed out here in socal, I would definitely want them for my ranger.
