Anybody got a RHINO yet?

From what I understand there's only about 7 pound psf applied pressure. Go to mattracks.com for some really cool videos. They are expensive, but I've seen cheaper brands at a Bike Expose last week. Mattracks are like 100lb. per hub, but others sell lighter models at 100lb. for all four possitions.

Well, just got all the paperwork filled out, and the credit union has already paid in full. Now, I gotta get the damn thing to hurry up and come in. LARhino, I went back to Monroe, and bought from the dealer that I had bought my Grizzly from. Every dealer I talked to would not budge off of sticker, and since I needed to go up and see my folks anyway, I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone. They tell me it will be in Friday, and I can pick it up this Saturday. Maybe we can get together sometime in the future and ride. I sold my Grizzly to a guy in Gonzales, and he has a couple buddies....maybe we can make it a monthly or semi-monthly ride......Jim

My dealer here in Michigan got the paperwork for my Rhino a week and a half ago and said the unit was released from the warehouse and is "in transit". They have yet to receive their first one. Most of the dealers here in Michigan haven't gotten any yet or only one or two. Most of which have been sold for weeks.

"A little birdie" told me that there has been some delay in getting this important aftermarket part into production and out into the market (and not for lack of trying).
Off the subject; but what do you fly? My Mom's been a pilot for almost 50 years (flown many cross-country women and men's air races) and I finally took the "easy route" (some in the flying community would say "cheated") by getting into powered parachutes for a time (Buckeye 582 Dream Machine). Really loved the "low and slow" concept and we had more fun with that thing than we could have ever imagined. We even made the first insurance claim in North America when my buddy almost totalled it! (straight in from maybe 120 feet; full front cartwheel and I mean BURIED IT in a freshly plowed field......he walked away, thank God).
Can't think of a more beautiful place to fly than W.V.......yet the downdrafts coming off those mountainsides must get a little 'interesting' sometimes!
Boneman,
You are welcome over here in Southwest Michigan anytime and I was just over in Mt. Morris on Sunday to discuss forming a new atv club. Was also at the state orv advisory board meeting in Lansing last night and to say that we may be able to use your support in the future would be a huge understatement. P.M. me if you're interested in just visiting or getting more involved in the mess we've got and the legacy for our children that isn't getting built.
I sympathize with your waiting on delivery; we have been salivating since the dealer show where it was first introduced and can only claim that I think you will be very happy with what you will get, for the money spent. Again, it has literally changed my whole concept of how I would like to ideally enjoy the outdoors.
If all the trails you might ever ride are wide enough to get another 6 or 7 inch wider rig down 'em?; you might as well start advertising the quad...........cause you aint goin' back!

Picked it up yesterday evening and between the kids and I, we have put over 2 hours on her. You guys built this thing up pretty good so I was expecting a lot and I was not let down at all. The first thing I noticed was the smooth ride once you get up to speed - I was used to my grizzley and this things rides like a cadilac/lexus (trying not to offend anyone). The steering, compared to an ATV, is remarkable. The seats are unbelievable (backs, comfortable, wide, etc.) - after a long day hunting and riding on an ATV, the old back starts to hurt but this thing is like riding in a Lazy Boy. I love the 2" receiver, just slapped a standard one on and hooked to my trailer and she towed it and did not even breath hard. Of course, you can never design a perfect vehicle so here are a few minor complaints:
#1 - As someone else said on here, the bed rattles pretty good at low speed. I looks to be coming from the tilt bed lever area and the heat shield under the bed.
#2 - the bed will not old a standard portable dog kennel with the tail gate closed.
#3 - Gas capacity is by site only and you have to take the seat off to check it out. I assume that the electronic dash option will show gas/speed/tac/hour, etc. on it but I will not opt to put that on the beast as I do not need any of that stuff.
Of course, these are minor and not show stoppers - I am so pleased with everything else that I will gladly overlook a few minor complaints.
Kraw....Will be happy to meet you and ride. I really ticked off my the dealer I gave my deposit to. Another dealer in Mississippi called me Wednesday night and said he had 6, 5 were pre-sold, and if I wanted one, I better get up there. The dealer here in town kept saying "any day" for the last 2 weeks so I was concerned that it would never arrive in time for duck hunting this weekend so I went to Mississippi and picked it up.

My local Yamaha dealer got his first Rhino and he took me for a ride in it yesterday. All I can say is...WOW!
Power is impressive. Handling is surprisingly nimble. Comfort is outstanding. Yamaha clearly did its homework in designing this beast. And it's just the first production year! I'd say many more great things are yet to come from Yamaha for the Rhino, not to mention all the aftermarket modifications which will surely follow its introduction.
I only have one complaint...my dealer wouldn't allow me to take the Rhino home for an overnight test drive?!?
BTW...can you put sand tires on a Rhino?

I'm still waitin for the call from my dealer. I sold my Grizzly 3 weeks ago and am currently going through ATV withdrawal. I also think that a sideXside club would be a good idea. I truly have have off road envy of you guys that have yours. Hopefully this will be the week!

LaRhino,
As far as checking the fuel level, there is no need to remove the passanger seat. In front of the pass. seat there is a large slit with F, 1/2 and E markings. The tank isnt completely opaque but you can see the level and judge by that.
