Polaris Ranger 4x4 Prices?
Hello ya'll. I'm going to be purchasing either a Polaris Ranger 4x4 or a Kawasaki Mule within the next month or so. I've found the mules for around 8000. I don't have any polaris dealers near by so I'm wondering what the going prices are for a Polaris Ranger 4x4.
Also, if anyone would like to comment, pro's and con's to each machine.
What it boils down to is I need one or the other so I can pack my kids and my dogs around.

There is a comparison between the ranger and mule on Polaris' website. I think that you would find that very helpful

Depending on what you are looking for the Ranger comes in two flavors a Professional Model and a Consumer Model.
I personally like the professional with the curtis cab installed. I would not pitch the idea about price however as the Ranger has more suspension travel and is based on the sportsman 500 engine (proven reliable). Also the Ranger can be equipped with an engine brake I do not know about the mule however. Also you can get the ranger in 6x6 or 4x4 I think the mule only comes as a 4x4.
Also the new mules have under hood storage. The mule also has a composite bed and the mule a metal one. The Ranger also has a higher rated generation of power for accessories I believe.
I would look into the comparison and then I would go look at a Ranger before I decided.

Polaris Ranger 4x4 Prices?
Thanks for the input ya'll. I did look at the web site and was disappointed that polaris didn't put the specs of the machines on the web site. They advised to go to the dealer. Also, I'm not too keen on looking at comparisons. Most of the time they are biased in favor of the entity doing the comparison. Each machine has its advantages and disadvantages. Not owning either one I'm wondering about just exactly what they are.
Looking at the surface and from what folks on this forum have written it would appear that the Ranger is more capable of going off road into rougher areas than the Mule. The thing that concerns me most about Polaris is the reputation they have in my circle of friends for reliability and longevity. Most of the people I know personaly that have purchased Polaris products were not happy with them. That really is my only concern with a Polaris. I know how reliable the Mule is. We have one at work and it has been in steady use since '96 with no major problems. Just maintenance and tire changes. But, it is not taken on rough terrain. I'll be using whatever I get for hunting and general outdoor recreation. So, it's going to see some rough stuff.
Since I am on a budget, price is a factor. Thanks again for ya'lls input.

Polaris Ranger 4x4 Prices?
i looked at the Camo Ranger 4X4 the other day and found it interresting that Polaris doesn't give it a YEAR on the Certificate of Origins.(2003 or 2004)
i kinda wonder how you would register one if it doesn't have a model year?
also, when you go to sell it down the road, if you bought it in Nov, '03 do you call it a leftover 2003 or an early 2004?
any thoughts?

Polaris Ranger 4x4 Prices?
Well heres my two cents.. I don't know what kind of dealer your friends had to work with but MY dealer treats me sooooo fair.. If it was broken due to polaris it will be replaced.. Own bone head move get your wallet out.. As for the real life tests I have seen the rangers do some things that a mule would never think of... But you sound like your not going to be using it for anything but what it was intended for... My dealer offers a 5 yr warr with all of the new stuff he sells... To me this is good sense as long as you maintain it they will take care of most repairs.. Plus when your ready to trade you can transfer it... I would shy away from most "big" dealers you know the ones who sell you somthing and two days later can't rember your name.. Its a good idea to go ride in one and make up your own mind.. I can tell you this though polaris was the first with automatics and god help the other guys if they would have pat pend A.T.V.'s 10 years ago... I am myself thinking of a ranger but funds are not there soooo maybe next year...
