twister hammerhead 150cc go off road go kart
#171
I am from Merrillville - Northwest Indiana around 30 minutes from Chicago. Just came back from louisville last weekend - went right by evensville. There are a few places to ride up around here but many the cops will chase you out of (nothing better to do!). We do have the crossings motocross and atv park here though (www.crossingsmx.com). He's not always allowing atv's out there but will on occassions when dust is not an issue.
Take Care!

Interesting link here... check it out... This is the KPX before it becomes a KPX over here. Notice
it mentions 22 in rear wheels... Guess there was a change.
Those that have the KPX are your rear wheels 22 or 18 out of curiousity??
Click on the link to go karts and look at the rest of them. Quite interesting... you will see all the
different flavors, and suddenly you will see quite a few that you recognize from different resellers
here... such as the Twister Hammerhead, etc., etc.
Opens up the eyes quite a bit

Great, good to know. I thought there may be some incorrect data on the web site. Don't think they would go backwards.

After further scientific analysis, there probably isn't much more than 75 pounds difference between the single and double seat models. This is after looking at three 25lb plates and thinking, that is a lot of metal.

Looking for a little advice here.
I ordered some warrior spindles to but on the back of my Twister.
I think I will keep the stock tires but want aluminum rims. Anyway, I think the stock rims are 9" wide, will it hurt to go to an 8" wide rim with these tires. The tires "say" 22x10x10, and I believe the offset of the rims are 4&5 with the 5 on the inside of the wheel (can't remember if they call this negative offset or not). Anybody have any advice? I am trying to reduce the rotational weight, ideally I would like lighter tires but I DON'T want wider tires. It's already hard enough to spin them. If I go to a narrower tire, they all seem to be 18's and that would really reduce ground clearance. The 10" steel rims seem really heavy to me.
Also, somebody previously stated they made aluminum skid plates and I was thinking what for? Then I looked under my sprocket and sure enough there is a hole in it with a corn stalk sticking through!

8 inch wide wheels will work fine. That's what I've been running on the back of mine. They have a 3 inch offset(to the inside). Also, the stock steel wheels aren't as heavy as you may think. I've weighed them against a set of Douglas .125 aluminum wheels, and they are only 2.5lbs heavier. So a .190 aluminum wheel(which is what these karts need) is probably not any lighter than the stock steels.

Well, I made up my mind and called KPX today. Have a dark red/purple KPX Exterro coming soon (I hope)
$2,000 delivered to the Rhode Island area.
I just couldn't justify the extra $800 for the Dazon.... and that being an internet price. Local dealers wanted $3,300 plus tax, so about $3530.
Heck, for that $1500 you can almost get another single seater KPX.
As far as power goes, I'll probably be looking into replacing the engine entirely at some point, anyhow.
Someone put an industrial 13 hp honda engine on a twister one of the Yahoo groups... based upon video there it looked awesome.
Thanks to everyone here for helping me decide upon these very similar 2 seat models.
