My 250 will do about 50mph in high and that's fast enough. Anyway, sorry you had a bad experience with yours cause they are all kinds of fun and a little safer than a quad, IMO.
I wouldn't do it for the speed, but for the power. I can't climb ANYTHING with this thing.

That's an easy and cheap fix. Put lighter rollers (or sliders) in the CVT and put a different torque spring in the clutch. That will keep the belt in the lower power range for a longer time, allowing you to climb much better. You will lose a little top speed, though. Also, you can change the rear sprocket to get more torque. Here's a link to a dealer I trust that carries all the stuff you need. You'll need an impact to get the variator and clutch off. If you have any questions, fire away.
