twister hammerhead 150cc go off road go kart
#661
hi, i am new, and i am looking into buying a 2005 twister hammerhead 150cc go kart. I also like the looks of the new 250cc kart. It has a direct rear drive shaft, instead of a chain. i read through this entire thread, but still would like to know how a Twister would climb a steep hill, and drive through some rough stuff. Thanks!

The new Yellow CrossFire 150 at Sam's Club is awesome! Great suspension travel of 9" in front and over 7" in the rear. It has padded seats and a 4 point harness and the 150cc Honda style engine. It is designed like the sand rails and not like all the other Chinese karts with little suspension travel. Price is only $1800 but does not have reverse, look at it at www.tpg-info.net . A similar one sold by Baja Motorsports at Pep Boys has reverse and is about $2400. Any body else have either one of these?

I own an 04 blue hammerhead which I am fixin to put a pipe and intake kit on.It is supposed to even it up with my 05 silver one.I am a bit of a speedfreak and love to slide, jump etc. These things are great! They aren't blistering fast, but plenty fast for the riding they were intended for. They jump good, slide excellent, even on concrete. The only thing I have to complain about is the take-off.But I'm not drag racing them (yet) so I guess it ain't a big deal.Top end they run plenty fast, especially for trail riding.I am also going to buy a canvass enclosure for my two. There is a place here local making them.I can't wait to try em out in the snow this winter.

These Buggies are approximately 200lbs heavier than a Banshee. With the Banshee's lack of low end power and violent powerband, you'd be hard-pressed to keep the thing together. I'd suggest using a larger four stroke engine.

The dealer I got my 05 from said he could get the kit.I don't know where, but now that I have actually ordered some stuff from him and have seen how hard it is to get anything from twister,i doubt I will ever get it.I am going to give tjpowersports a call and see just what the heck a guy has to do in order to get parts for these things.I haven't had any engine issues,I just have a bad ignition switch, which I hear is a common problem.I love these things if I could just get some stuff so that both were running again.

I just purchased 2 of the Crossfire Go Karts from Sams Club and I am heading back to grab one more. These are a great gift for the kids, at lest thats how I convinced my wife to let me get the 2 I have. They are plenty fast, not too loud and have an awesome suspension system. I would recommed these to anyone interested in an awesome kart that is well worth the money. Like I said, I have 2 so far and am planning on getting another today before they are all gone. Happy Karting!
By the way, my kids are 8 and 3, guess you know who I really bought these for!!!!!!!!

I fired my 2 twisters up the other day for the first time in cold weather.Man,it took a long time for them to warm up.The silver 05 would idle great just didn't run real good for a while. The blue 04 took a long time just to idle decent, and it never did get to a point that I didn't have to feather the throttle a little. Are these carts known for being pretty cold-natured???It was like 15 or 20 dgrees outside. The next day, with the carts in my garage, they fired up great.
