mini buggy vs honda pilot 400

I have it on good authority that the new lower ratio transmissions are now comin out.
the new GK32 (2006) KTX800 has the new trans. and according to my spy who has driven the buggy its almost "too low", but works great.
the way you can tell if the 800cc buggy has the new trans. this the funny part, it not only has an "EPA" sticker on the buggy, but it also has a believe it or not, catalitic converter on the exhaust.
this should be great news for all of us who have been waiting for the lower ratio trans. to arrive.

i am not knocking you slimefreak, but I did test out the 800 cc buggies
I was looking for something my wife and son could dune, while i was on my ds650.
i was looking at the rhinos, the rangers, and these buggies.
i tested all three of them, and went home with the ranger
the buggy i drove was a joyner 800 cc 3 cyl motor, similiar to the ones that were in the geo metros\
needless to say, i wasn't impressed with them, and, no factory parts available, what yo see is what you get.
however the tranny was geared low, almost too low for the dunes. i was in the dirt, wide open fields with hills, and could barely get it down into 3rd, even up the hills, like 1st and 2nd were unusable
anyway, my .02

This thing looks like it will be a blast if they ever get to production.

joyner is completely different than the venom 800cc and others, It is heavier, and much more expensive (It is also well supported through Thunder Motorsports) All parts are readily available.
My motous 800cc (similar to the venom) is actually geared higher than I would like. 1st and 2nd are were the power is, nothing in 3rd and 4th. With just a pipe, filter, and jets, I am doing 60mph ( not turbo-ed)...good luck doing that with the Ranger.
I am guessing that you did not try the turbo version???
From Venom, a turbo-ed 800cc would cost the same or less than your ranger, and run circles around you.
The ranger is built better, better support and has four wheel drive.
So it is really a trade off. I am glad the ranger works for you, but you could not get me to trade you my buggy for it.
Enjoy
