Tell me about that "leg bar" I saw in your third pic. Is it something you did? You had to cut the plastic in the front to weld it in or what???

Yep, that's just a bar welded into place. Keeps me from sticking my leg out when I feel like I'm going over.
I did have to trim some plastic in the front.

 

Gusin, what kind of mount did you use for the child seat?

 

Self made, bolted it together from 2x4's to give it something to sit on and not slide around.
The actual holding power comes from ratcheting tie-downs that go in an "X" from the front tie down loops in the bed, through the seat, and the same thing with the back tie down loops.
When mounted it doesn't even move a millimeter, rock solid (I wouldn't have it any other way, of course, did you see how cute she is?)...
