Gun holders on quad
#1
Hi I put on some gun holders on the quad that mount to the front rack. How do you guys keep the dust off the rifles? Some one was telling me that the vibration on these holders damage the scopes. I have never heard this b4 is this true

The vibrations will kill cheap scopes. Go with a quality scope (Leupold, and others) and you won't have that problem. I use a thin waterproof cover that I bought from Sportsmans Warehouse designed to go around the rifle, and in the ATV racks. Waterproof also...but not extremely fast to get out if you need to use it. I can't remember the brand name. It was about $20.00 though. I mainly use it when travelling to/from my hunting area. Once there, I take it out of the cover and just let the dust/rain, etc. fall on it. I do put a "finger" of a rubber glove over the barrel at all times however when on the quad.

i use a hard case with bungie tie downs. just in case the quad tumps over, goes too deep in water, or it's raining or snowing, or if i kick up mud and water onto and around the fenders by driving too fast. either way, i'm protecting that rifle. just what i do. but he's right, get a quality scope. there more robust and can handle the vibes.......just my two cents.........

It is a hunitng rifle, a little dust or dirt or rain will not hurt them. Get a good scope and mounts and lap the rings and you will be fine. Some states require keeping the gun is a case so be careful of the law.

Here in Iowa they have to be unloaded and in a case so that answers that question. The rack I have (jaw type that clamp shut) also work for my gas ice auger.
