New Rifle! :)

I just bought a Remington model 700 with custom muzzle brake and a heavy fluted barrel and new trigger topped with a Leopold mark 4 3.5-10x40 30mm tube with illuminated mil dot reticle and it has turrets, the gun is chambered in 300 weatherby magnum. I will post some pics soon, have any of you have good luck with the Leopold mark 4 and need any long range tips I can get... Gonna start shooting long range with it, the gun also weighs 20 pounds!

Sounds like a bitchin setup! Leupold scopes are hard to beat. That 3.5-10 x 40 mark 4 will be a great scope! I dont know what kind of ranges your looking at shooting, but anything out over 500 yards and I would want something in the 6x power range.

Yea I am gonna start with like 300-400 yards then slowly work my way up to 800-900 yards once I get past like 500 yards I am gonna trade my mark 4 in for a nightforce, the guy I bought it from only had the mark4 at the time so I just went with that so I could start shooting

Mark 4 is an excellent scope. 3.5-10 is a good mid range power to me. Mid-range to me being 300-400 yards. I like more power for anything more than that. But I have terrible eyes and have to compensate. I would be interested in seeing what kind of groups that thing prints. 300 Weatherby Mag is a screaming cartridge. I shoot an LR-308B with a 6-24X50 Nikon. I love shooting long range.
As far as tips, the best one is practice practice practice. Control your breathing and trigger pull. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions. I am also a 700 fan. Here are some pics of my LR, My sons 700 I built, and a 5 shot target of my LR with one flyer.
