New Forum Feature: Buddy Messenger
#1
On the upper right hand corner of the screen just above the drop-down navigation box you'll find a new link (if you're logged in) that says "launch buddy messenger" This will launch a new pop-up window that will alert you when your buddies (or enemies) are online and let you send them private messages! Use the "help" link in the buddy messenger for more detailed description.
I just finished writing it so please let me know if you find any bugs or have ideas to enhance it. Enjoy!!!

dbeck,
If another user has you on there ignore list, will they not show up on the buddy list when you type in there name or is there a limit on how many people can be on the list?

Good question. I believe if they ignore you you will still see them in your buddy list. You will be unable to private message them however.
Your list can have as many buddies as you want. The pop-window is scrollable and you can grab the corner of the window and resize it if you have more buddies then what will fit in the window.

dbeck, another great feature!
got a question, probably dumb, I've added some buddy's but now I lost my "add buddy" screen, I only have the screen with the buddy's already added. How do I get that screen back, I've logged out and back in but when I click the buddy feature on I still get the same thing.
Any Help!
I hope your getting recognition for all the great work your doing, this is by far the best forum going.

Shotgun,
If you click the Private Messages link in the Buddy Messenger it should redirect your main browser window to the private message area located at http://forums.atvconnection.com/viewprivatemessage.cfm The Add Buddy button should be on that page. Is that what you're saying is now missing?
My reward is seeing people enjoy the forums. If people find the forums informative and fun and they stop back often then I feel like we're doing some good things for people and I enjoy that a lot.
Thanks for the kind words. Let me know if you're still having trouble with the Add Buddy function.

I discovered the "buddy list" a couple months ago, and it's a great way to remember who's in your area and/or who you chat with. I've got a number of our NW riders on it
