Default Considering a Rincon, need a little advice.

I have a 98 Scrambler 4x4 and it's time for a change, been looking at the Rincons at the local Honda Dealer and I've been fairly impressed by the quad. I have a few questions for the folks that own one or have some ride time on one. I'm mainly going to be trail riding with some mud riding. I think it will be great for this but my question is for the few times I'm going to need to haul something is the lack of no low gear going to be a problem, I wouldn't think so but I would like to here from someone that has one. Also what type of aftermarket tires does everyone recomend from the look of it the stock tires look pretty sad. Anyway I would appreciate any advice, and feel free to let me know about another other mods to your bike that you like or dislike.

Sorry to reply without owning one. From reading alot of posts and magazines, a Rincon does not need a low range. Some that own them say they still wish it did but will still admit it doesn't need it.

take predator's advice and buy the prairie, that way when you are high centered in a rut and spinning those tires with that mega powerful engine that you have all of us Rincon owners can ride around you laughing.....kekeke j/k It doesn't have a low range gear per se, but I haven't found that to be a problem. I can pull logs, a 2000# trailer, tons of stuck yamahas, kawasakis, and all those other fellas, not to mention going up extreme hills without ever missing a beat. The torque converter fixes you up and gives you all the low-end you'll ever need. Some machines are weaker than others and I have seen some complaints about Rincons, but mine hasn't given me a lick of trouble and I've seen several other posts where Rinny owners were going very strong. Pretty important to get over 100 miles on them too before you judge it on power. It leaves a lot to be desired straight off the lot, but it pics up from 100 miles on up to 300+. Shockingly so. You'll think you are on another bike. maybe a prairie or something. ;-) If you are going to be in mud, then the stockers are extremely sad. If you do nothing but pretty level trail riding and jumping, the stockers will hold their own. They are so light it's wild, but the tread is too wimpy in my opinion.

i cant say much about the rincon but...............i can tell you that the rubicon is a nice quad lots of power and in auto low if you put the gear selector into low you have like a double low gear. plus its shaft drive with auto or manual shift. and for tires the mud lites are a sweet tire and there the lightest aftermarket tire out there and if you dont like them get some GATORS i love mine. also if your not going to buy a HONDA get an ARCTIC CAT thay have the most ground clearance of all the quads, and with my gators on i have 14 1/4" of ground clearance and thats over 4" more then the honda.and thats where she shines i can go threw all the mudholes and over all the downed trees my buds can't plus its a great hill climber too.IF thay sold HONDAS when i got my cat i might have got one but thay dident and now im glad i got an ARCTIC CAT i love it. but the HONDA RUBICON is a sweet ride my best bud has one and we trade off somtimes and all i can say is SWEET.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm off to the dealer in the morning to make my decision. As for the Prairie my best friend has one and I've rode it several times. To me it's just not comfortable and when I get off of it it's like yeah it's really fast and that's about it. Don't get me wrong it's a nice ride just not my cup of tea, if I were interested in the speed I would just keep the Scrambler. Thanks again for the info guys and if I get the Rincon I'm sure I'll have some more questions.
