VERY WELL PUT BY ALLNow my two cents worth!!
I drive an Arctic act 03 500i. I Have about every mod available for the Cats! The most important being the locker!
I ride hard and in nothing but mud! ONE BIG COMPETITION. Every Sat and sun our little club welcomes all makes and models, and sometimes have a cash pirize! I have ridden with every popular bike made in the utility class. I cant not say that My bike has made it through a nasty hole and anothers have not. In most cases very few have to be pulled. Ours is about points mostly. Who gets hung up,who has to reverse, who has to stop etc. Its based on a point system. I can tell you where I ride and in what i ride in, if you dont know what you are doing, you will either get hurt, screw your bike up, or better yet HATE YOUR BIKE FOR NOT MAKING IT WHERE OTHERS HAVE! The AC DOES NOT HAVE ALL THAT WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE 650. As a matter of fact it does not even have a digital display! But I will tell you this. If I owned a p650 and it did what i witnessed it doing. i would have taken a quick ride to the car wash and then to the dealer for a trade in. I probly would have taken off all of those expensive gadgets and sold them on ebay, since this is where you money goes to anyway! Now I know I am comming off like I am bashing the p650. I am not. I can only tell you what I saw. im sure with a more experienced ridder things would have been better by the way you have described the most excellent bike ever made!
I will leave you all with this! I will be at Marshall and marengo! Anyone who wants to ride and have a friendly Comp just find me, im game for it. If i get outdone I will be the first to post it here! BUT IT WILL NOT BE BECAUSE I DIDNT TRY, Im not shamed, I firmly believe that every bike has its spot that it shines in. For me its been in just about every scenario exept speed!

I have heard people comparing the P-650 ride to that of a rubicon on the forums, the kawi isn't sopposed to ride much better and its front suspension kind of leans in the corners. I know the prairie is the fast accelorating bike but isn't the grizz and maybe the quest faster on top end. I don't see anyone buying a quest around here. I can roll my 27" tires on the rubi 56-58 on speedo on a dirt road, on gps that would be 60-62mph. I didn't buy the bike for speed, it is fast enough for me and about anyone elsewho rides a 4x4. I would like to have the locker but not one I would have to hold on to to keep it ingauged like the P-650. I will keep the beltless auto which has been flawless in the first 3,400 miles over a belt any day. I would possibly get a 500i manual shift if I didn't have a bike right now cause of the IRS and super high ground clearance, speaking of gc doean't the P-650 have about the same as the rubi. They are all nice bikes and should be reliable. Rinny's are around $6,400 around here right now and possibly cheaper so price would not be a factor between that and the P-650 for me if those were the two bikes I was looking at right now.

I don't have anything against belts. I didn't know so many people had problems with them untill I joined these forums. The majority of the ATV's we ride with have belts and they seem to very seldom have problems with them. Some of them are more than 10 years old and still have the original belts on them. Not very many people out here use their ATV's for submarines or have to stand on the seat to keep out of the mud and it is easy to tell when the trail changes enough to require low range. I just liked the way the Rubicons trans works and shifts. I haven't needed a locker. I would deffinatly never have a locker that I had to hold a lever to keep it engauged. If you are in that type of situation, I think you have enough to keep you busy without having to hold onto one more thing.
I guess I am up to 6 cents so far, better quit before I am broke.

I have a Rubicon and Rincon and ride with a P650 and Grizzly 660 on a regular basis, like every ride! I Love my Hondas and could easily move over to a Grizzly, great machine, but I wouldn't touch a P650 for nothing. Sorry P650 owners but the one I ride with SUCKS! It is always stuck, slamming the front end on the ground do to too light of front shocks and a few other issues.
The P650 is a fast powerful machine but the overall performance of the machine has yet to impress anyone that we ride with. We have a 2 SP700s, P650, Grizz 660, Rincon, Rubicon and Ranchers that usually ride in a large group and the P650 is out performed in the mud/snow by everyone else. We've all agreed, except the P650 owner, that the P650 is an over huped machine. Again, atleast the one that I ride with is. Not all but this one isn't impressive.

Its hard to convice people about the Kawi, ride one and you will love it. I bought my Kawi sight unseen and I have no regrets. For me it offers everything I want in a quad, the Honda, Arctic Cat, Polaris, Bomb and Yamaha might offer everything your looking for in a quad. We shouldn't argue about what quad is better, we should talk about quad stories and help each other. There is no point in argueing which is better, for each of us are different and ride differently so we can't compare apples to apples unless you happen to have both quads on the same trail with the same tires and equally skilled riders then you can compare, untill that happens it all apples to oranges.

betram and others
It will take time fro the kawi to earn respect. I know the feeling. Members of our club were floored to see me buy another Arctic Cat and I caught hell for the first few rides.
Now I am happy to say they hate it when i show up!
ALL the trash talkin they did to me has reversed. But now all i do is go through the hole and continue on down the trail. I will rest at the next hole letting my bike cool off,get something to drink and await for the arrival of the others. I do all of this with out saying a word once Im outa of the hole. That is if they are talking trash at the beginning of the ride. Sometimes saying nothing at all is saying everything they dont wanna hear. Besides it gives them the chance to make up excuses of why they couldnt go through it as easily as me.
Im sure the Kawi p650 is a good bike. Like everything there are lemmons
I can tell you horror stories about every bike made. But what is the point!

Just to let you guys know, we've been riding with the P650 since early last year. I've ridden the P650 and it does have great power, wish my Rincon had that much power, but doesn't perform as good as we thought it would.
All of the big bore quads are great now a days, but the P650 just seems to be missing something. Thats all.
