Man if you think a 400EX rides good you don't know what suspension is!! Ride a DS650 once and get back to me on what rides good. I think your talking about suspension, if not fill me in. LOL

Gosh, I just hate titles like that!!!

Okay, guess I'm just a big headed Suzuki owner (Among other things)

But not for the reasons you've mentioned... Honda has never stepped up to the plate and produced something that will compete with my beloved 500!
In fact, Suzuki was the ONLY manufacturer that had a pair big enough to build one of these!
Don't get me wrong, I love my 250R, but on the dunes, it's a wimpy little 250 that needs a big bore kit! Why didn't they ever make a 500R to compete?

This discussion doesn't even quantify the fact that the Honda thumpers of today are not even as strong as the product they produced 17yrs ago! (Not that Suzuki has any room to talk!)

It's funny how all the 400EX riders keep on saying a Raptor is "just a Yamaha." It would be great to see a 400 keep up with one. With the Z and KFX, I can understand because they're a lot closer. And if I had a little more money I would have a Z or KFX right now instead of my Warrior. But come on, Honda rider's calling the Suzuki rider's bigheaded?

trailbreaker. the reason us 400 owners talk down on raptors is because they are not that far ahead of us. they have 260cc's more we shouldn't even be close. do you pick up what i am laying down?

My friend has a z and i've got over 100lbs on him and he had me by 2 lengths. I'm not saying one or the other is better. I was set on a z untill I came across my ex.

It don't matter what you ride, as long as you ride something.

The Z does hace a little more power. But its a little. I have ridden both quads a lot. The Z cant compare in handling. The weight balance of the 400ex is unmatchable by the Z. The Z feels like a Raptor. Top heavy. It makes me fear trying to really whip it around in the dunes because it might roll. I never get that feeling with the 400.

3 of us set up a MX track in the dunes (about 45 sec laps) There were two 400ex's and 1 z. The Z was always last. he kept tipping over on the rutted corners. Yeah he had us in a straight away but it was easy to make it up and more on the corner.

The Z also has a really weak frame. If you MX race it needs to be gusseted or it will be severley bent in the case of a bad landing or a small crash. Dirt Wheels even did a thing on how to gusset it. When do you hear things about the 400ex like that??

Power: 400z

Motor cooling:400z

Weight:400ex

Handling: 400ex

Reliability:400ex

Price:400ex

How is the 400z better? oh yeah, it will win in a drag race. yippy... oh yeah it has reverse for lazy ***'s. Its only a 400.
