The honda riders you speak of don't really ride hondas. At least when you say the Top riders. Farr, Gust, Jones, Creech, Hitt. Not a honda quad under 20g's in that bunch. Farr, and gust ride suzukis. Jones rides a prox and different geometry. Hitt the same and occasionally his CRF. Ellis and his Z. Who are these top riders again you speak of????? They ride pro x cylinders ported by diff companies, and the only thing honda may be a gear or two in the tranny. The frames are completely aftermarket and of different geometry, with mega dollar shocks. If you want to call those honda's well then thats a diff story, but they're not hondas in my opinion. The pro production class is all yellow, or haven't you been payin attention??????
The Yz make a little over 2 hp more than the crf, and the maint schedule on the CRF requires a replacement piston every 25 hours.
I would NEVER buy a honda ever, and here is why. THEY GAVE UP ON THE SPORT!!! They were the first to ditch us, and the last to pick us back up. If everyone wants to ride for a company ,like that, then they're freakin nuts. They will be the first to ditch on us again if quads ever do get in hot water with the gov. Yamaha stuck with us through it all with the banshee, even suzuki stuck it out for awhile. I will NEVER ride for a company who doesn't support our sport, I don't care how good any of their products are. even if the only other choice was a Z400, I would spend how ever much I needed to beat every honda possible. Honda doesn't care about us, and we shouldn't care about them. Frankly, all these honda boys in here, holding on to the forgotten days of the 250R like the memories of their long lost g friend who dropped them like a hot rock after HS, makes me SICK. Dumb @sses

Sounds like another yamaha whiner. Those honda riders ride a honda just as much as any rider rides a yamaha in the motorcycle class, just as much as a driver drive's a ford in nascar and etc. Funny when it comes to quads, it different.
And of those "slow" 400ex and 250r and the old "memories of them. Those are what is winning the races. Not a banshee, warrior, raptor, or yzf450. I think yamaha needs to step it up a bit...

alrght im not a guy that lives on farms and mows corn fields all day but im gonna give u all a little tractor example. take a look at a briggs and straton engnine and a kohler engine. a kohler enigne thats 6hp can out do a briggs moter thats 10hp.okok now lets look at yamaha and honda. a yamaha engine that runs 450cc can be outdone by a honda 400cc engine. sure honda needs a new sport quad but they own the utility class so now they gotta do that same with the sport. well see whats a better quadwhen ur transmissoin goesa after the first week on the new yamaha quads. remember to be the best u have to have the best honda..

Do you mean you saw a real bear die and so horse rancher pulled a spider out of a lake which makes a mr honda feel better. I read that statement several times and it sounds funnier every time. Im sorry but I just cant compete with that. I hope nobody else responds to this. You win. Honda is the bestest.
