Default Do-It-Yourself Porting?

I plan on adding either a Wiseco 11:1 or a JE 10.8:1 piston with hotcams stage 2 very soon and I am wondering if I would hurt anything if I cleaned up the casting marks on the intake and exhaust with a die grinder?

Are the marks that big?
What kind of power could I gain?

If you plan on doing this yourself GO VERY SLOWLY. use sandpaper rolls to just smooth the flashing. Match your Carb Boot to the head as well. Leave the intake rough and polish the exhaust.

As far as power, I don't think you will get that much from the clean up. You should notice the higher comps though.

smitty911 is right on. one more thing you may want to consider is to clean up the valve guides inside the ports. nathan
