Default Switching Oil Brands?

i've always heard that you should keep using the same brand of oil every time you change your oil. is this true?

i've always used Honda GN4 oil in my 250, but that stuff is too expensive ($4.50 per quart!). i've noticed that Yamalube is only $2.99 at my local dealer. would it hurt my fourwheeler if i switch to yamalube? thanks for the help.
