Letterman's "Top 10 reasons not to buy a 400ex"
Top two reasons to buy a 400EX.
2. Reliable
1. Can be bought at a cheap price.
Honda is supposed to release something in Sept. One reason that was given for not releasing it. Honda has too many 400EX's to get rid of and a new quad would kill the 400EX's sales. If this true, then the more 400EX's that are sold will bring the release of the new sport quad faster.
Like the other quad companies aren't killing the 400EX's sales?

Honda is going to shutdown all these little squables in September: the 450r will be a reality. Oh yeah... its true, its true. Some dont believe honda will release it, but that's OK... they can believe what they want.
If it wasnt for Honda, the sport would be nowhere where it is today. I think it could maybe have been further if they would have continued with the 250R production and not pulling the plug on other things...but who knows what might have been?
But they had just got reemed out by the lawsuits and took it hard from the CPSC over the 3wheeler thing- that they just had to step out for a while. Who knows what would have happened if they'd continued and ignored the lawsuits and the CPSC came after quads at that time? Their stepping out back then may have been the best thing for this sport - as painful as that is to type. But the good news is that they did come back and they are not going anywhere this time.
When they relased the 400EX when they did, they sparked a whole new era. But I do salute yamaha for sticking in there and making the banshee, warrior, and blaster until Honda woke up. I never have disliked yamaha. I have owned a few yammies and still own a Banshee. I think Hondas are better engineered machines.
The 400Ex is still a good bike and the 450R will be the best thing they have ever made.
