Hey 400ex dont even bother taking it to the dealership the warranty doesnt cover things like paint chipping. The price for powdercoating will vary from about $300 to $600 mabye even more. If you are experienced you can strip the quad yourself and save some money that way. If they strip it for you it will be much more. Another alternative is to buy some heavy duty paint and do it yourself, but if you have the money do it right. Also if you are going to do the frame then you might as well do the swing arm and the a-arms all at the same time. Good luck

I can get it powder coated for less than $100. If you pay $300 to $600 you are getting ripped off.

I had my frame painted with auto paint by a car painter. It isn't as strong as powdercoating, but you can get any color and it is durable. If you krylon it, plan on painting every 3 months or less.

Hey bpace if you can get a bike powdercoated for less than $100 you need to tell me where and how you do it. I have been looking around and the cheapest is about $300 including shipping.

P.S. bpace if you are ever looking to sell one of those roll design R's you should let me know.

I just got my frame back yesterday from being powdercoated. I got the frame, footpags, swingarm and a-arms coated for $250. A place in CT called Plas Tec did the job. Only took a week and that was when they were busy. I am more than pleased with the job they did.

I was going to paint it also, but decided to "do it right the first time"

If you are interested, the check out:

The Melky Company

Bowling Green KY 42101

The last one they did for me was a couple of months ago and they charged $70 for frame, swingarm and a-arms. This is with me already having them sandblasted which is another $40 from a different company
