Thats cool speedyz400, I wouldn't mind having one of those, but it sounds like it shakes like hell. Must be cool to have a friend like that to mod all your stuff for you.

He didn't have a gps to track speed. He had lots of other mods too. I consider my quad kind of fast, and with his mods, he passed me. Our pick up speed were pretty close together, but he still outdid me. He can throw that thing around a bit with no problem, but his number 1 complaint is vibration.

The local police have a radar gun with one of those big display's set up right down the road from him, he was thinking about going out there at night and take a run by that thing, risk getting caught though.

I do belive this is off topic, but what im wondering is, why on earth, would you want to ride a quad, when they are heavier, slower, less powerful, harder to transport, unregisterable, more dangerous and harder to jump and find places to ride, over a 2 wheeled bike.
I mean i own a cr500, a 99 model, and that can pretty much whoop and dirt bike or quad, in the dunes, around an open motocross, really the only place it can be beaten is if you race on a mini track or really really tight bush. But my point remains, can someone please answer my question to this madness, I mean you can only fit one on a trailer, maybe 2, i wouldnt know, but i think its just silly.

My two cents

To answer your question. Bikes are lame and boring! It is pure lunacy to say that a bike is safer than a quad or 3 wheeler! That is just not correct. It is far easier to hurt yourself on a bike than a quad. More wheels = Stability! I personally don't have near the fun on a bike that I can have on my ATC 250R or my 400EX, just a personal preference I guess! Quads are easier to jump than bikes are also! In the dunes the average quad is far more rideable and fun than a bike. The CR 500 is a nice dirt bike but just not very fun in the sand or riding trails in the woods, I know I have been there done that! I'd rather have an XR650 for woods and NO Dirt Bike is worth anything in the sand or dunes at the beach! If you think quads are so bad then go to dirtbike forums and stay off the ATV forums. Most on here are here because we prefer ATVs to dirtbikes and to most of us the ATV is far more versatile than a dirt bike!

Just my opinion!

I liked my 97 CR500 but it sure wasn't a very good trail bike and my KDX 200 right now is way more fun in the woods because the power delivery is better suited and not like the CR500 light switch power. Also I hated the no kick stand, always having to find a tree.

I think your missing the point if your haven't owned a quad and I am lucky I can afford both types. I will always be faster on my kdx over any of my quads but when your riding around in the woods and a slower pace you just can't beat a quad.

I could keep on going and comparing and more than likely not change your mind set but this is a quad forum and there is some very good dirtbike forums out there two. If you need a site let me know.
