hotcam electrical prob?
#1
440, port & polish, full exhaust, wb rev kit and just installed stage II hotcam. I burned a fuse. When my rpm's get higher, my lights flicker. I think I still have more rev to go too. None of this happened until I installed the cam. I've tightened the valves tighter(exhaust) than the recs are and they still knock. Whats your opinions?

Cmon, any suggestions. Too much power generated from the high rpm's causing the fuse to blow? How do I fix this. Or is the rev limiter peaking causing the lights to flicker and how to fix that problem. Any valve adjustment ideas besides keep tightening. Seems like its a pain in the butt to bend that guage down in under. Is there other types of guages.

The cam doesn't have anything to do with the blown fuse, it's probably the rev box that's giving you problems. I have the same cam as you and I'm running it at .006-.007 clearance. You're never going to totally get rid of the valve train noise and you're asking for trouble if you tighten them down too much.
