Dude... your an idiot alright.. i have a 250x... that has some mods on it and i will smoke ALMOST any blaster... my 250x out accelerates.... out performes...out corners... and has just about the same top speed as a little baby blaster. Blaster stock only have 15 hp...250x stock 21 hp... no comparison.. 250x's are lighter b/c the frame is cromolly steal... mine is just as light as a stinking blaster w/ alot more power to boot. Anyone w/ a blaster i dare u to come up to montana and race me!

5.weisco high compression piston (11:1 .. uhh i dont see any blasters that have compression anywhere near that good)

If anyone w/ a blaster thinks they can beat me.... Well.. you cant sorry bud!

Just so you Blaster lovers know..be a bit carefull in your claims and what you wager....there are quite a few old 250X/350X conversions out there which were used to race Nationals before the 400 ex hit the market back in 1999. Some of those 250X/350X's are pretty strong. We competed successfully against modded Banshees, 400 ex's, 250r's, Raptor's etc etc. on flat track all the time, and with a slightly less powerfull version in mx racing(maybe 40 hp on the mx version and about 46 hp on the flat track version). The lesser of the two(mx version) was significantly stronger than a stock Z400...

So if you are about to believe that your modded Blaster will beat "any modded 250X" be carefull...There are also some pretty strong TC 316cc versions of the 250X out there as well.

 

250x over the Blaster anyday.

Why becasue the Blaster is a short wheelbase air cooled 2-stoke entry level bike that is underpowerd, needs top ends every 1-2 years and eats cranks because of air leaks. For those of you here that will disagree prove me wrong as we until recently had a 1988 250X with a white brothers pipe and stock motor that would eat any Blaster and even most warriors. We mostly dune ride at Sand Mountain here in Utah and for what it is the 250X is a very impressive reliable bike.

 

yall ppl need to learn that a 250x is not the same as a 250Ex the 250x is an older model its excatly a 300ex with a 246cc engine its about 3 mph faster than a 300ex stock it has a manual clutch,chain driven,246cc engine has about 16-17 hp and will hit about 57 stock mine will it 66mph on cement and i weigh 200lbs the 250Ex is an automatic clutch,shaft driven,229cc motor its excatly a RECON just lighter

but my 250x in mint conditon will wheelie in 4th at 55mph mines a beast! i only have very lil mods!

 

but the 250x will **** over the blaster 6 ways from sunday 2 stroke or not the blaster will only hit about 55 and its a 196cc VS. 246cc

 

That's quite true .. too many people think of the EX when someone talks about the 250X. My cousin has an 87 and it's a dandy little machine.

Dunno about the stock for stock scenario but mod for mod the blaster will aniahalate(spelling??) the 250X. The blaster stock has more HP too, indeed almost as much HP as the Warrior, tho at different rev's and my Warrior tears my cousin's 250X a new 'A'. He's a much better rider than I am too.

Yeah, and the 250X is only 250cc. The 250X is also no giant among quads. Not bashing on the 250X by any means, and in fact if I had the choice of either of the quads and they were the same year, I'd get the X. But if it was a choice between the X and a 03 or newer blaster, I'd have to get the blaster. That's the only problem with the X nowadays .. they're all so old .. not as old a me tho [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

At the wheels, yeah that's probably about right .. more like 20hp at the crank.

Dude, now you're confused .. we were talking about the 250X not the 250R. The 250X does not make 21HP stock. If it did it would waste Warriors and I can tell you that no stock 250X will touch my Warrior in anything other than tight trails. The X is a very nimble machine, and with a skilled rider can do some amazing stuff.
