Default Thinking about buying a 2001 Foreman 450

To find the scams, it appears that a search for "#x" (without the quotes) will net a lot of the scams, along with a few others.

Yeah, that was in my mind the whole time (see end of first paragaph of original post). On one hand, I had to at least look into it because if it was for real, I couldn't pass up such a good deal. On the other hand, I couldn't believe it was actually for real. It's funny how quickly you can weed through this crap if you ask for VIN numbers / titles AND demand to see/drive the ATV before you fork over the cash. I can't imagine forking over that much money sight unseen.

I'm really disappointed that traderonline / atvtraderonline isn't doing anything about these people. You would think they would require good information for people listing ads. I got my first bit of suspicion when the phone number looked odd. (I checked all of the phone exchanges for that part of NJ and couldn't find any one that could have possibly been the one he gave or that could have logically been mistyped the way he wrote it). From there the things just kept adding on. When he said "western union" and "We'll deliver"- that was the end of it.
