Do you have any riding experience? If so and you are looking for a bike I would suggest 125cc and no less. Possibly a 250. An XR100 is a good starter bike but you will be used to the power and handling the first or second time out. Hence, bummed that you did'nt go bigger.

With no riding experience you do NOT want to start off with a 125, you will end up hurting yourself bad or really screw the bike up. An XR200 would be good to start off on for you, it's affordable, low maintenance and will help you learn. After awhile of riding that then stepping up to a 125 2stroke sounds more reasonable.

Yes, any XR model is a 4 stroke, the CR's are the 2 stroke motocross bikes. The XR200 will be a good bike for you start off on and learn the fundumentals of riding with, it's very reliable and will get you from point A to point B everytime. The CR's are for more experienced riders. Being that you are 5'9 and 135lbs an XR100 is way too small for you! BTW don't buy anything new, chances are you're going to wreck quite a few times and it will be trashed by the time you're done with it.
