Default Bent A-frames and bent frames

Hello,, Has anyone ever hit something like a rock or stump with a 4x4 and bent aframes or the frame itself and if so what did you about it. Does it take much to bend them and do damage to the machine or are they tough enough to withstand the abuse? Tell me your story. Thanks in advance Uncletom

Seen the earlier frames breaking when farmers put drop rack baskets that hang off the rear of the quad(to heavy)

We see them bent periodically from a good roll...
the farmers hit the cows with them and thats bent a frame of two

what quad is it exactly?

i had a friend bend the frame on a foreman 450. they took it to a body shop (another friend) and put it on the rack and streightend it out. i dont think i would try to bend back a-arms though. i would replace them.

It is my sons rubicon, he hit a tree stump with the right front. He said that he seen it and got on the brakes and didnt hit it to hard but it is toed out about and inch and a half. He thought he hit the stump with the lower a frame. I measured everything i can with a straight edge and tape measure. I really cant put my finger on a bent part. but there is definately something bent alittle. Sure i can re-set the toe end but the right tire still angles in alittle(caster or camber)at the bottom. I have looked at everything including the frame and i cant find anything by eye that shows bending anywhere.I replaced the bottom aframe and solved nothing. I think now if it is any, it is the top a-frame but not sure. I just thought some one out there may have had expierence on this type of problem. I heard once that if it is toed out the main frame is bent???? Thanks in adavance

if its just toed out, and you can find no bends or weld damage, it likely is just the toe. this happens. use a tape measure or string and toe it in. just a hint, if yu center it up, it will ride better than it did before (most hondas seem to have the toe out from the start).
