just sitting normal the 400ex should wheelie uncontrolablly in first second and in 3rd and 4th gears with a slight tug on the bars. the first time i rode the 400ex i was struggling to keep the front end down so when taking off i would take off in second and lug it in 3rd then go wide open so i wouldnt flip it.

I weigh bout 160 and I did an 1/8th mile wheelie (with both feet on the grab bar). For Hondas anyway you haveta warm them up b4 they will ride wheelies i sit there and ride it hard for about 15 minutes then when its warmed i can pull EZ wheelies on my 250.Put both feet on the grab bar, arch your back, and (make sure its in 1st)ride off the clutch slow then jus jam the throttle.

Pothead that is not a good idea it is just a good way to get hurt. I have been riding since i was 2.5 years old. I know what doing what your talking about does to your body and i have the scars to prove it. You can wheelie anything it is all about balance. Just keep trying.

Depending on how long you want to ride it before rebuilding that is.
