i am thinking about getting a trx400ex maybe next year,, next ur they will probably have an 05 model (what model year should i get) besides 99 or 00

and is the 400 good?


my friend has the 300 and its got some nice wheelie power when he kicks it into first gear, so i think 400 will have more power than the 300 (that was stupid) no crap it will, i don't know what to ask about the 400, its good i know, i want it i will get it, but is there anything i should be warned about before i get it?

i don't know,, i am just comparing them i really like what you people tell me about the raptor, but it may be too powerfull for a starter like me, (the biggest i have is 300) and i might get a 400ex honda then a 660 in future years

 

ex's are reliable quads that are great for trail riding, have good suspension, and can be killer racers with a few mods. No they dont have quite the same power, but have plenty especially with a custom pipe.

 

oh you might also want to check into the 450R when/if they come out with it

 

A 660R has some power... the new 450 Honda will have much more most likely.

The 400EX is probably the perfect quad for you.
Plenty of power, (just ride one, you will find that they arnt slow dogs like people make them out to be)
They probably have about twice the power of the 300EX or close to it, and its lighter than the 300EX.
(13 or 14 HP maybe vs. 25-28HP for the 400, Raptor around 35)

Its reliable and bulletproof just like any honda, great trail quad, awesome motoX quad.

No, the 450 will not be a 'sportrax'.

It will be an R. (as in trx 450R)

A race quad, just like the YFZ450 from yamaha. It will whoop the rappy in a race.
It will require much more frequent top end rebuilds, and wont be as reliable most likely.

Same goes for the 450 Honda. It will be fast fast fast, but will require more frequent rebuilds
ect... than the Raptor or 400EX.

 

yeah so that means the engine on the 450 is race bred right? so it probably will go faster,

and from now what i'm hearing is that the 660 isn't all that good now,, so what do you mean fast fast fast,, like is that like 100 mph b/c the top end speed for the raptor is like 85 or something or is it higher?


i don't want a 450 R b/c i don't race i just want sometihng that i can handle and that is reliable, (take for instance the trx400ex) or the raptor 660 but the 660 is a perfect trail blazer and could go in to motocross with a few mods to it? thats what you all are saying right?

whats the top end speed for the 400ex and 660 with out any mods, just stock?
