Default Ramsey Winch Install on a Rubicon

Just installed a Ramsey 3000# Winch on my Rubi. Everything went without a hitch until I realized that the supplied cables from the solenoid to the winch are too short. These two cables are only 24". I need another 6" to put the solenoid in the closest dry spot. I chose a location on the backside of the left inner fender below the fuel tank. Ramsey says not to exceed the 24" distance, but there's no other way to mount on my Rubi, as I see it.

What have others done? My solution is to get longer cables. Is this my only solution? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

I installed a warn winch on my rubi. I placed the relay on the back side of the right front fender. I had to have longer cables made to reach from my battery to my relay. The installation manual specified to keep the relay as close to the battery as possible. I have used my winch "several" times without any trouble.

Here's my solution. I got some 6 gauge welding wire, terminal ends and shrink wrap. I made longer cables to reach. I ended up mounting my solenoid behind the left front fender. There's a flat area that's high and dry and is just right to mount the solenoid. Boy, I love to winch and roll.
