Turf Tamers
#1
Has anyone used these tires before, and if so are they very reliable? I see that they are only 3-ply, but I use tire slime too which has worked for me in the past. A flat tire cost me first in the harescramble last weekend so I ordered new ones. I used stock tires from 250R's before. They were pretty good but the sidewalls were kind of weak.

If you are planning on using them for harescrambles as your post implies, then don't waste your money on turf tamers. You would be lucky to make one lap without ripping the sidewalls out. If you plan on racing a lot of harescrambles I would recommed one of two tires, either Holeshots or Razrs. If you don't believe me go to a GNCC races sometime. I would say 90% of the bikes will have one of the two aforementioned tires.

I personally don't like the Holeshot/Razor tire tread. My machine is only a 350 and doesn't really have the power to slide that tire with the amount of air pressure that I like to run in them, whereas the stock 250R tires I had slid very well, but didn't hold up very well. The 400's that I mostly race against almost always have Holeshots, but they also have the power to slide these tires easily.
