Wow, that don't sound too bad considering that I paid $5200 each (ouch), but that did include the 3-year extended service plan.
I'm not sure on the oil since the dealership has been taking care of that. But I've been told to use Honda brand oil....I think on these forums.
And I take them in every 3 months for the oil changes.

First off, I haven't been on this website or this thread for 15 months and forgot how good it is and how good the forum contributors are...all good, useful comments and questions. Back to Honda ATVs, we always use Honda filters and oil. Sure, they are more $, but you know they won't let you down. Life is tough for oil in an air cooled Rancher engine. The Rancher doesn't take much oil, and the filter is small. Our Rubicon, on the other hand, uses LOTS of oil and a big filter. So I change the Rancher oil every spring, and the Rubicon oil only when the indicator says. I feel I can get by with these oil change intervals because of the good old Honda oil. Keep up the thread!
P.S. We bought a Swisher snow plow for the Rancher last winter. My advice: DON'T BUY A SWISHER. I had to customer fabricate frame mounts for the Rancher (the stupid lower A arm factory mounts would never work) and it is VERY heavy. I'll look at Warns and Cycle Countrys next time.

well....now ???
swisher ??? hummm ??? i have an ol' three wheeler riding lawn mower by swisher....tuff as nail's...
but ? i thought ? are they the same one's who make the finnishing mower ? that pull's behind the 4-wheeler ?
anyhoo...... thats the reason i was glad to hear about the honda rancher's low,low 1st gear....im thinking about buying one of those, pull behind lawn mowers...my yard is almost 2 1/2 acres.....
i think ?? the rancher is ? 45 inches wide......and the mower deck is 42....[i think ?]
supposed to have an offset hitch for it too.....we'll see.
my guess is..that as much as we plan on useing this rancher....i'll change the oil every two months...[and be safe]
grandpaw alway's said ''oil is cheep''
i've alway changed the oil in everything i've owned...twice as much as they tell me to,,filters included.
my ol' 75' chevy one ton.....300.000 miles on it....still run's good.
i change the oil n' filter in my goldwing every 2500 miles..... probly way too early...but ? i have peace of mind.
im shure i'll do the same [hours wise] on the honda rancher.
yes ! ya gotta love the honda rancher owner's !!!
