Is ATV Action out of the loop on the 450R?

ATV Action knows exactly what Dirt Wheels does, they are sister pubs owned by Hi-Torque. Your November issues of all 4 major mags will have all the info on the new 450R. Hi-Torque [ATV Action + Dirt wheels], Ehlert [ATV Sport] and Primedia [ATV Rider] already have the quad's press packet and their ads / spec features are sitting on the press as we speak. Remember, we heard about the YFZ on the net and 2/3 weeks later it was on the Inside front cover of the mags.
There are different deadlines for stories, features and ads. Something like the 450R or the YFZ probably show up at the Publisher's 6 weeks ahead of time and are delivered by a lawyer who get's a non-disclosure contract signed before they talk.
The owners of this site most likely have the same info as they and their medium are being taken more seriously nowadays. So whoever owns ATVC, create a bogus user name and leak info like you did for Polaris and the Predator.

Dude I think you nailed it. but just one question, why do they date them so far ahead? it seems like i get them 2 months before the date on the mag.

Not a clue. But that's true of all monthly magazines I think. I know I got the October issue of Playboy about 2 weeks ago.

And I'll bet another penny that we'll have detailed info and real pictures in six days - without waiting for next month's issue [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

TRX440 was correct in his assumption regarding press releases, publishing deadlines, and such. Their is about a two month leadtime between todays news and published reports. There is a deadline each month, and then it goes to the printer, and finally mailed or distributed by the printer or contractor. I believe that the Hi-Torque mags (Dirt Wheels, 4 Wheel Atv Actin, Motocross Action, etc) are produced at a magazine printer in Kentucky or somewhere back East (probably low bidder), then mailed out to the subscriptions and Distributors. Saves on Postage/Freight!
Check out the racing news and events they write about. That should tell you something. I believe that the press release for the 450R was the first week of August, so we will see it in print in the Nov issue of Dirt Wheels, which subscribers recieve in late September, if we're lucky. Also, I agree that the internet is the best way to get the latest news on new ATV's and race results. I can't wait until next week to see all the pics of the new 450R!
