So...what now happens with the 400EX?

Out here is CA you can get a 400ex for about 4999 out the door from a place called LA cycles. Might be even lower now. At that price its hard to pass up if all you do is tool around with your friends. I myself will never sniff a closed course race track so the 400ex/z400 will always be options as long as they are made especially at those prices.(z400 are about 600 bucks more at this place)
As for the e-start I hate the fact that it only has e-start and no kick start back up. Nothing scares me more than being out riding and have something happen to that system, and then you are stuck. The ideal situation is to have both systems!!!!

Anyway the type of quad that you buy should fit your riding style (trails, track, sand etc.) not everybodys.

I also believe that a lot of people like myself don't have enough insentive other than more power to buy a new 450r (no electric start). I am perfectly happy riding my machine. Not having reverse is no big deal to me I go forward. As a matter of fact if I find a good enough price I will probably buy another one.

You guys are right 400ex's are a great bargan! I picked up a mint like new 99 400ex for $3200 over the summer and really like it. It's a nice addition to my mint 85 Tri Z 250. No reverse? God they don't weigh that much you girls! LOL I went to a few atv drags this summer and guess what always won the stock 400cc class? The 400ex over the Z and kfx. I know it's all about the rider but this proves the ex is still competitive.

rock rider, i think your the most ignorant person in the forums. and your a lil girl who can't push his quad back on the trails. if i has a chioce between a 2004 400ex and 2004 z400 i would for sure get the 400ex.
