If the 400ex was a piece of crap you wouldnt see pros like jon guetter or any of the bombsquad riders on them. I am still hoping to get one after i sell my 300ex and banshee no matter what anyone says. They have TONS of mods available for them, dont underestimate 400ex's, you will see them win races time and time again. They were the best thing out since the 250R in 1999. I think if we didnt have the 400ex, we prolly wouldnt see the Z400 either.
