OH, and with the help of Ebay, I have less than $1500 into my bike, and that includes the $700 that I paid for the quad.
$3000-$5000 saved, versus buyin a new thumper Sounds good to me. Ill take a loss versus a raptor or a new "R". Of course it takes 200cc more to do it

 

$3000 is not gonna get you a 250r in perfect condition. A total restoration is gonna be in order too have a nice, reliable quad....asuming you can run down all of the parts. A new quad makes a lot more sense unless a guy picks up a cherry 250r for cheap. My $.02

 

Who needs a perfect condition quad. $3000 around here can get you a nice 250r. $4000 will get one that will beat Raptors. Either way your saving money.
I admit, new quads are nice, but I, as well as many others, dont have the money to get a $5k-$7k quad

 

Who needs a perfect condition quad? A person contemplating buying a a new quad or fixing up an old one. A person without the cash too buy new is gonna skinp anyway. Overall, if one is gonna compare an old quad too a new one, it should be in the same condition and just as reliable too have a valid point.

 

Most people dont need a show room condition quad. As long as the mechanicals work the way they should. Also most people who buy used can usualy do most of their own mechanical work, so for real cheap, they can fix most problems. Either way, a really nice 250r is still going to be cheaper, and faster than a new quad.

 

If you cut corners it will be cheaper....I agree there.

 

Ya know most of you people make me sick! I dont even know why I bother with the forum. Its all just stupid kids sayin "oh my quads better than yours even thow i havent even seen most or ridin any" But some of you are inteligent...

I really cant wait to get a TRX450! I think about it everyday all day! And no 2-strokes ARNT out dated. Most of you wernt even alive when the 250R or quadracers came out so you guys should really shut your mouth, and lissen more.... And if it wasnt for honda or suzuki comeing out with the 2-strokes you people wouldnt have your brand new beloved sport quads... There might be sport quads but they definetly wouldnt be nearly as good as they are today. Hey, I love just about every sport quad out there. There isnt one quad I have ridin and got off and said "I dont like that thing" Its ok to say "well i dont like this quad as much as this one" But when people start saying this and that quad sucks and theres is the best it really makes them look like an idiot. Thats just what this forum is all about I guess.... It is to bad because there are some really nice people in here will alot of knowlage.

 

I think this post makes more sense than about 80% of the post in this thread. I definately think that suzuki and honda are the reasons we have the sport quads we have now, good post man.
