No guys my old 86 125 had the cylinder upward.I used to have the old manual that came with it and it said top speed was 20mph.Theres no way any of the 85 or 86 would do low 40's.I have ridden an 87 model and there was quite a bit of difference.I've even clocked mine on pavement at 19mph.

 

no way all 86's have cylinders sticking out towards the front and the 125 will defitney go faster than 20mph because my mojave 110 will go 30 or 35mph.

 

Thats BS!I'm holding a picture of that thing right here.Heres the Title in the other hand along with the manual and guess what it says 1986 with the cylinder on top.If I had a scanner I would send you this picture.It had no shocks 4 speed 12/48 gearing 22in tires with the trottle adjusted out.All of that is stock.

 

I have an 85 TRX125 that I bought for my kids. My brother in law bought it new and never rode it. I bought it last year; it had about 30 miles on it. For giggles I had a friend clock me with his radar. 28mph is what she would do, not bad with a 230-pound rider. I am sure an 80-pound rider could get it to 35.

Yes, it's true, a 1985 trx 125 will do 40. 40 km/h that is. I GPS'ed it last year and it was about 40 km/h, which is about 20 mph.
